معرفی
Andrew Stadnyk is a Professor at Dalhousie University, affiliated with the Department of Microbiology & Immunology and the Department of Pediatrics within the Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on mucosal inflammatory diseases, particularly the role of the complement system in colitis and chemotherapy-induced mucositis. He holds a BSc (Honors) from the University of Manitoba, a PhD from McMaster University, and completed postdoctoral training at the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute.
Key research interests include understanding how complement proteins interact with epithelial cells and gut microbiota, with recent work addressing the molecular mechanisms underlying Crohn's disease and mucositis. He collaborates nationally and internationally, including with the Michael J. Howorth IBD GEM Project and researchers at the University of Leicester and University of Queensland.
His scientific awards include the IWK Health Centre Research Award (2013) and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada Research Leadership Award (2010). While currently not recruiting trainees, his research team engages in studies on prebiotics, probiotics, and microbial interactions in gastrointestinal diseases at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
