معرفی
Andrew Single is a Researcher at the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine (IKOM), NTNU, affiliated with Mara Martin-Alonso’s team at CEMIR. His work focuses on understanding mucosal surface diseases, particularly intestinal repair and tumorigenesis using murine models, organoids, and confocal microscopy. He holds a BSc (2013) and PhD (2018) from the University of Otago, New Zealand, followed by postdoctoral research at Lund University (Sweden) on respiratory disease therapies and at NTNU on chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer.
Research emphases include epithelial cancers (e.g., diffuse gastric cancer), drug combination testing, and molecular mechanisms of lung fibrosis. His team explores how extracellular matrix-cell interactions influence therapy resistance and intestinal stem cell behavior. Notable contributions include studies on LSD1’s role in intestinal maturation and OGG1 inhibition for fibrosis attenuation.
Publications span high-impact journals like Nature Communications and Seminars in Cancer Biology, covering topics from synthetic lethal drug discovery to pre-clinical lung disease modeling. His work bridges basic science and translational medicine, addressing unmet clinical needs in oncology and respiratory disorders.
