Andrew Siegel is a Senior Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, with appointments in both the Mathematics/Computer Science and Nuclear Engineering divisions. He serves as Director of the Center for Exascale Simulation of Advanced Reactors (CESAR), a DOE-ASCR co-design center focused on next-generation HPC architectures. Dr. Siegel has held teaching roles in the University of Chicago's Masters Program in Computer Science (MPCS) since 2000, instructing courses such as High Performance Computing, Numerical Methods, and Stochastic Processes. He currently also serves as Resident Master at Burton-Judson Residence Hall.
His research emphasizes advanced reactor modeling and simulation, including innovative computational approaches to stochastic neutron transport, fluid-neutron coupling, and reactor physics. Over 100 peer-reviewed articles reflect his contributions to these fields.
