Andrew Procter holds the position of Senior Research Fellow in Hydrogen Systems Engineering at the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science, affiliated with the Sustainable Environment Research Centre. His research focuses on integrating tidal lagoon power generation with hydrogen energy storage systems, emphasizing control strategies and renewable energy optimization.
Procter completed his Doctoral Thesis in 2022 titled "Demand Led Tidal Lagoon Power and Hydrogen Energy Storage - Supervisory Control and Optimisation", supervised by Professors Zhang, Guwy, and Maddy. His work addresses challenges in renewable energy systems, including model predictive control and auxiliary equipment optimization.
His 2022 conference paper explores the control mechanisms for tidal lagoon-hydrogen storage integration, highlighting advancements in energy storage and power generation efficiency. Collaborations span interdisciplinary research in environmental and engineering domains.
