معرفی
Professor Andrew Potter is a Professor in Logistics and Transport at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University. His research integrates logistics, transport, and supply chain management with particular emphasis on policy implications and sustainable practices.
His primary research interests include Logistics and Transport Systems, Additive Manufacturing Supply Chains, Maritime Port Operations, and Sustainable Logistics. Potter's work bridges theoretical supply chain concepts with practical policy applications, particularly regarding environmental impacts and technological adoption in transport systems. He has developed significant research streams examining how customer customization preferences affect manufacturing processes and how policy interventions can optimize logistics operations.
His recent publications demonstrate a strong trend toward sustainability in maritime operations and digital transformation of ports, with multiple 2024-2025 papers focusing on GHG emissions reduction, 5G adoption in smart ports, and greenwashing impacts. Earlier work established foundational contributions to additive manufacturing supply chains and transport policy analysis.
Potter serves on the editorial boards of three international journals and is a member of the International Symposium on Logistics organization committee. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and frequently provides media commentary on logistics issues.
His research has directly influenced UK and Welsh Government policy development, including service on the Wales Roads Review panel. Current projects examine the intersection of digital technologies, environmental sustainability, and global supply chain resilience, particularly in maritime contexts.
