Dr. Andrew O'Hara is an Assistant Professor of Physics specializing in computational materials physics at Western Michigan University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. from Haverford College.
Research utilizes density functional theory to model materials properties including defects, interfaces, ferroelectrics, and 2D materials. Current projects investigate magnetoelectric coupling in 2D systems, van-der-Waals-layered ferro-ionic conductors, and radiation effects on materials. He has published over 40 papers across condensed matter physics and materials science.
