Andrew Nay is an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Counseling at Michigan State University (MSU), located in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education within the College of Education. He holds a Ph.D. from MSU and an additional graduate degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations. His research focuses on disability policy, counseling ethics, forensic rehabilitation, and employability assessments in legal contexts. Dr. Nay serves as a Fellow on the American Board of Vocational Experts and holds certifications as a Rehabilitation Counselor, Disability Management Specialist, and Compensation Management Specialist.
He routinely conducts forensic analyses for litigation involving employability and wage-earning capacity, advising employers, legal professionals, and insurers on occupational injury and discrimination cases. From 2014, he has been part of the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) Ethics Committee, providing ethical guidance to the profession. He also serves as a Board Member at Large with the National Association of Service Providers in Private Rehabilitation (NASPPR).
Dr. Nay actively presents at state and national conferences on topics including counseling ethics, forensic evaluation, vocational assessment, and conflict resolution. His work bridges academic research with practical legal and workplace applications.
