معرفی
Andrew McDonagh is an Associate Professor and Discipline Leader (Chemistry) in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He holds a PhD from the Australian National University (1999) and has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Bristol (UK) and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he also served as a lecturer before joining UTS in 2003.
His research focuses on designing functional molecules, synthesizing nanoparticles, and studying light-responsive materials. Key areas include inorganic complex design, nanomaterial applications in energy storage (e.g., lithium-oxygen batteries), and photocatalytic water treatment. He has led or contributed to grants such as the 'Development of leadership and outreach collaborations' (2024) and 'Homogenous Antibody-Metal Conjugates for Immuno-Mass Spectrometry Imaging' (2023).
McDonagh has authored over 170 publications, with recent work on thermosalient crystals, antibacterial isoquinoline derivatives, and solar-driven interfacial evaporation technologies. His research spans interdisciplinary collaborations in materials science, environmental engineering, and medicinal chemistry.
