Andrew Martin

Andrew Martin is a Senior Lecturer in Advanced Practice at Sheffield Hallam University. He teaches on advancing practice modules such as Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills (APACS), Non Medical Prescribing, and Managing the Acutely Unwell Adult. He is the module leader for Minor Illness Management and contributes to undergraduate nursing education. His qualifications include an MA in Healthcare Studies (2012), a PGCert in Advanced Practice (2015), and certifications in clinical education and practice.

With extensive experience in emergency departments and a background in developing advanced clinical practice programs, Martin’s research interests focus on healthcare education, clinical decision-making, and the implementation of advanced practice roles. His work has directly influenced the employment of Advanced Clinical Practitioners in healthcare settings.

He holds the honor of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has contributed to curriculum development in advanced practice education. His teaching spans both postgraduate and undergraduate levels, emphasizing practical skills and evidence-based practice.
