Andrew Majeske is an Associate Professor in the English Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. His interdisciplinary work bridges law, literature, and political philosophy, with a focus on climate change and early modern texts. He holds a PhD from the University of California Davis, a JD from Loyola University of Chicago, and advanced degrees from Duquesne University and John Carroll University. His career includes legal practice (1986–1997), LSAT test development, and teaching at multiple institutions including McGeorge School of Law and Temple University.
Research interests emphasize connecting literary analysis with contemporary crises, particularly through Shakespearean studies and climate fiction. Major publications include *Equity in English Renaissance Literature* (2006) and edited volumes like *Justice, Women, and Power in English Renaissance Drama* (2009). Recent work explores Francis Bacon’s *New Atlantis* in relation to Western liberalism’s collapse and climate narratives.
Editorial roles include Executive Editor of the *New American Studies Journal* and membership on the *Law and Literature* editorial board. Awards include the Charlotte Newcombe Dissertation Fellowship (2002–2003) and a Fulbright Alternate Candidate (2022–2023).
