معرفی
Dr. Andrew Leber is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on cognitive control, attention, and how humans dynamically adjust behavioral strategies in response to environmental demands. Key interests include attentional flexibility, the neural mechanisms underlying task-set updating, and the interplay between motivation and cognitive strategies.
Education: PhD (Johns Hopkins University, 2003), MA (Johns Hopkins, 2000), BA (Rutgers University, 1998).
Research emphasizes cognitive control mechanisms across domains like visual attention, memory, and decision-making. His lab investigates how individuals optimize attentional strategies, suppress distractions, and adapt to task demands. Recent work explores learned distractor rejection, individual differences in visual search strategies, and the role of environmental context in attentional control.
Awards:
- Hortense Cavis Shepherd Professorship (2011–2012)
- NIH/NIMH Postdoctoral Fellowship (2004–2007)
- Multiple awards from Johns Hopkins and professional conferences
His research uses behavioral paradigms and neuroimaging (e.g., fMRI) to probe cognitive and neural underpinnings of attentional control. Grants and collaborations focus on advancing understanding of adaptive attentional strategies and their applications in clinical and educational contexts.
