Andrew John Harvey

Dr. Andrew John Harvey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Engineering. He holds a PhD in Plant Science from the University of Adelaide and a BSc in Biochemistry from LaTrobe University. His research spans molecular biology, biotechnology, and computational biology, with a focus on plant genetics and enzyme characterization.

Dr. Harvey’s publications highlight his work on XTH gene families, cellulose synthesis, and magnetoreception. His recent projects include studies on viral OTU-like proteins and precision gene editing using CRISPR-Cas9. He has also developed computational tools for magnetoreception research.

Scientific grants include multiple TÜBITAK-funded projects on xyloglucan enzymes and nanomaterial toxicity in plant germination. He has supervised over 10 graduate theses at Yeditepe University, covering topics such as plant biotechnology and stress response genes.
