Andrew Jason Cohen is a Professor of Philosophy and Founding Director of the Interdisciplinary Studies Program in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Georgia State University, where he offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. His research focuses on toleration, civil discourse, social and political philosophy, applied ethics, and the intersection of philosophy, politics, and economics.

Cohen is the author of Toleration and Freedom from Harm: Liberalism Reconceived (Routledge, 2018) and Toleration (Polity, 2014). He has published in journals such as Ethics and The Canadian Journal of Philosophy, as well as reference works like The International Encyclopedia of Ethics and The Cambridge Companion to Liberalism. His current research explores toleration and civil discourse in criminal law, business ethics, and free speech contexts, including a forthcoming book on civil discourse instruction.
