Andrew Jackson is a Research Fellow at the Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity (CUSP) at the University of Surrey and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Economic Transition Expertise, focusing on macroeconomic and financial dimensions of energy transitions.
His educational background includes a PhD in Economics from the University of Surrey, complemented by a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Sussex.
Research interests span Energy Transitions Macroeconomics, Monetary and Fiscal Policy Coordination, and advanced computational techniques including Agent-Based Modeling, Stock-Flow Consistent Modeling, and Input-Output Analysis. His work investigates transition risks, green investment financing, and public debt sustainability during energy system transformations, integrating money and banking perspectives into macroeconomic frameworks.
He currently serves as co-investigator on the EU Horizon project Models, Assessment and Policies for Sustainability (MAPS) and previously contributed to the ESRC-funded Rebuilding Macroeconomics initiative developing integrated modeling frameworks for transition risk analysis.
Andrew is embedded within CUSP, an interdisciplinary research hub examining sustainable prosperity pathways, and maintains connections with the Centre for Economic Transition Expertise for specialized policy-relevant research.
