Andrew Hooyman

Dr. Andrew Hooyman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Chapman University's Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences. He specializes in neurorehabilitation, motor learning, and cognitive assessment, with a focus on Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and physical therapy interventions.

• Education: B.S. and M.S. from University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Ph.D. from University of Southern California.

His research explores placebo effects in transcranial direct current stimulation, reactive balance training in Parkinson’s disease, and novel screening tools for Alzheimer’s disease. Recent publications analyze infant formula measurement accuracy, motor skill retention trends, and neuroimaging biomarkers for Alzheimer’s risk.
