Andrew Heath

Andrew Heath is Professor and Head of the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering at the University of Bath. His research advances sustainable construction technologies, focusing on low-carbon concretes, geopolymer materials, and resilient transportation infrastructure. He leads multiple EPSRC and EU-funded projects including innovations in recycling construction waste and cryogenic material analysis.

Research Focus: His group develops earth-based building materials, self-healing concretes, and geotechnical solutions for climate adaptation. Recent work examines scale effects in alkali-activated soil blocks and hydraulic lime-pozzolan composites.

Awards & Leadership: Serves as Associate Dean for Research and contributes to national policy frameworks for net-zero infrastructure.
