Andrew Ford

Andrew Ford is an Associate Professor and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the UWA Medical School's Department of Psychiatry. His research focuses on depression in older adults, B vitamins and cognition in the elderly, and dementia. He leads projects such as the 'Hearables and behavioural activation for mental distress' study funded by NHMRC and the 'HearCog study' supported by the Royal Perth Hospital Medical Research Foundation. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. Recent publications explore hearing impairment's impact on frailty and cognitive decline, behavioral activation for depression in nursing homes, and post-stroke mental health. He has supervised two doctoral theses and actively participates in collaborative research networks.
