Andrew F. Moore is a Professor of Law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He has been affiliated with the institution since 1998, founding the immigration law clinic in 2000. His academic roles include serving as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2011–2013. Moore’s expertise spans immigration law, asylum, and human rights law, with a focus on criminal law intersections, refugee issues, and legal services fraud.

Research Interests: Moore’s scholarship addresses systemic challenges in immigration law, including mental health care gaps for immigrants, cross-border refugee policies, and the ethical dimensions of legal services. His work advocates for policy reforms to protect vulnerable populations.
Presentations & Advocacy: Moore has spoken widely on immigration policies, including analyses of Trump-era policies, sanctuary cities, and the U.S.-Canada asylum framework. Notable engagements include testimony before the Michigan House of Representatives and presentations at the World Union of Jesuit Alumni and Physicians for Human Rights conferences.
Service: Beyond academia, Moore supports the law school’s mission through organizing the Red Mass for judges and lawyers and moderating the St. Thomas More Society.
