Andrew Delfino

Andrew Delfino is a Senior Lecturer in the English Department at the University of Maryland. He transitioned from computer engineering to English, graduating with highest honors from the University of California, Davis, where he also won the Prized Writing Awards twice consecutively and authored a humor column for the campus newspaper. He taught middle school literature and writing in Atlanta, co-developing an 8th-grade curriculum integrating blogs and wikis. He holds a Master’s in Literary Studies from Georgia State University, focusing on masculinity, gender, and sports in Post-Modern literature.

Since 2013, Delfino has contributed to the Professional Writing Program (PWP). He pioneered online asynchronous technical writing courses starting in 2016 and co-developed the English 393 curriculum for the A. James Clark School of Engineering’s study abroad program in 2018. His research and teaching emphasize digital pedagogy, gender studies, and the intersection of technology with literary analysis.
