Professor Andrew Dancer is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford and John Thomason Tutorial Fellow in Mathematics at Jesus College. He holds a BA and DPhil from Jesus College, Oxford, and has held research fellowships at institutions including the Max-Planck-Institut and IHES. His research focuses on Differential Geometry, particularly Einstein spaces and Ricci solitons, with notable contributions to hyperkähler geometry and implosion theory. Dancer has served as Director of Graduate Studies at the Mathematical Institute and held leadership roles in the London Mathematical Society. He has supervised numerous PhD students and co-authored over 60 publications. His work integrates geometric analysis, mathematical physics, and algebraic methods, with applications to moduli spaces and geometric flows.
Education: BA and DPhil in Mathematics from Jesus College, University of Oxford. Academic roles include Acting Vice-Principal of Jesus College and editorial positions at the Quarterly Journal of Mathematics. Awards include the Junior Mathematical Prize and Davies Prize.
