Andrew D Leipold is a Professor and Edwin M. Adams Professor at the College of Law, University of Illinois. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia and a B.S. from Boston University. His research focuses on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Juries/Jury Behavior, with notable work on clearance rates in criminal justice, mass incarceration critiques, and procedural rights in adjudication.
Key contributions include co-authoring comprehensive criminal procedure textbooks and analyzing systemic issues in policing and judicial processes. He has been honored as a Member of the American Law Institute (ALI) since 2013.
