Andrew Connelly

Andrew Connelly is an Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Pacific Affairs (DPA) at the Australian National University. His expertise centers on Papua New Guinean history up to and including WWII, with a focus on indigenous populations, military heritage, and post-war cultural memory in the Pacific region.

Education:

• MA in Anthropology, CSU Sacramento (2008)
• PhD in Pacific History, Australian National University (2014)

Since 2017, he has served as a Military and Cultural Heritage Advisor to the PNG National Museum and Art Gallery, aiding sustainable heritage management for the Kokoda Track. His work intersects WWII history, colonial legacies, and community engagement with historical remains in the Pacific.
