Clark's research centers on community-engaged choral practice with emphasis on accessibility and social justice. He develops partnerships with correctional institutions, healthcare facilities, and community organizations to expand arts access beyond traditional settings, integrating disability studies into performance and pedagogy to foster inclusive musical experiences.
His Harvard Choruses New Music Initiative has commissioned over fifty works supporting undergraduate composers, while his Notes from the Heart program provides musical opportunities for children with disabilities. Clark's ensembles have performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and internationally with artists like Stephen Sondheim and the Boston Pops, earning acclaim for "passion, conviction, and coherence" in diverse repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary.
Under Clark's leadership since 2010, the choirs maintain active collaborations with major orchestras and ensembles including Sweet Honey in the Rock and the Boston Philharmonic, with performances documented in the Boston Globe and Opera News as "first rate" and "cohesive and exciting."
