Andrew Campbell serves as Associate Professor of Counseling and Core Faculty for the Master's in Counseling (Clinical and School) program at Hood College, where he is affiliated with the Department of Psychology & Counseling. He holds an active license as a professional counselor in Washington, D.C., and maintains his office in Tatem Arts Center, Room 318.
His educational background includes a Ph.D. from George Washington University, M.S. Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania, and B.A. from the University of Michigan. Dr. Campbell's clinical experience spans hospital in-patient and out-patient centers, college counseling facilities, and high school settings.
Research focuses on mindfulness meditation applications for adolescent and young adult mental health, mindfulness-based therapeutic interventions, and the integration of mindfulness practices in counselor training curricula. His work bridges clinical practice with evidence-based education methodologies in mental health fields.
As Core Faculty for the Master's in Counseling program, Dr. Campbell trains graduate students in both clinical and school counseling specializations. His professional licensure in Washington, D.C. provides foundational expertise for supervising future counselors across diverse institutional settings including healthcare, higher education, and K-12 environments.
