Andrew Burkett is a Professor of English and Program Director of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) at Union College. He also serves as Co-Director of the Templeton Institute. His academic career spans teaching and research focused on intersections of literature, science, and media. He holds a B.A. from Washington & Jefferson College, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. from Duke University.
His research explores British Romanticism’s engagement with science and media, including monographs like *Romantic Mediations: Media Theory and British Romanticism* (2016). His work bridges media archaeology, digital humanities, and literary analysis, with articles in journals such as *European Romantic Review* and *Studies in Romanticism*.
Burkett’s recent articles address topics like cardiac imagery in Keats’s poetry, Byron’s visual legacy, and the role of chance in Romantic texts. He has received the Stephen Horne Award for Teaching Excellence and co-edits scholarly series for *Romantic Circles*. His leadership roles include directing Union College’s STS program and co-organizing interdisciplinary initiatives like the Templeton Institute.
