Andrew Brady serves as Deputy Head of School for the School of Management at Anglia Ruskin University's Faculty of Business and Law, where he also directs 3rd Sector Futures. With over two decades of experience since joining ARU in 2001, he has established himself as a leading specialist in leadership and management for charities, social enterprises, and voluntary organisations across the UK.
His academic credentials include an MSt in Community Enterprise from Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and a BA in English Literature and Language from the University of Salford. Brady holds Senior Fellow status with the Higher Education Academy and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Brady's research focuses on social enterprise and social entrepreneurship, with particular emphasis on how entrepreneurs leverage networks for competitive advantage. His research extends traditional network analysis frameworks specifically to social entrepreneurship contexts.
His publication record shows consistent development of social entrepreneurship theory, with recent work exploring how social enterprise connections evolve during learning programs and how cultural context shapes network formation and resource acquisition across borders.
Andrew has received significant recognition for his contributions:
- Vice Chancellor's Award (2008) for pioneering work embedding third sector services at ARU
