Professor Andrew Bradley is a Visiting Professor and serves as BAE Systems' Chief Engineer for the HAWK Advanced Jet Trainer Aircraft program. He has over 20 years of experience in senior systems and software engineering roles at BAE, leading projects such as the Eurofighter Typhoon's avionics systems and pioneering formal methods for safety-critical systems. His technical leadership includes managing product development, design processes, and R&D initiatives.
Research interests span systems engineering, avionics design, formal methods in safety-critical systems, and theoretical particle physics. His engineering work focuses on aerospace systems, while his academic publications address quantum chromodynamics (QCD), meson spectroscopy, and high-energy physics phenomena. Bradley oversees a 300-member engineering team developing new Hawk variants, maintaining its status as the world's leading advanced jet trainer with 900+ units across 19 nations.
Professional contributions include establishing the Systems Engineering Innovation Centre at Loughborough through collaborations with UK academia and government. His expertise bridges industrial systems engineering and foundational physics research, reflected in both his engineering leadership and theoretical physics publications.
