Andrew Bertoli is an Assistant Professor at IE University (Madrid, Spain) within the School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs. His research focuses on the intersection of sports and politics, including how international sports influence geopolitical relations, racial/gender equality, and societal cohesion. He also explores topics like nationalism, conflict, and the role of leaders in international relations. Previously, he held postdoctoral fellowships at Dartmouth College (2017–2018) and the University of Southern California (2016–2017). Bertoli earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from UC Berkeley (2016) and dual B.A. degrees in Political Science and Arabic from the University of Notre Dame (2009).
