Dr. Andrew Bell is a Lecturer in Cognitive Neuroscience Education at King’s College London within the Department of Neuroimaging, School of Neuroscience, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. He holds a PhD in Physiology and Behavioural Neuroscience from Queen’s University (Canada) and completed postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH, USA) and the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (Cambridge, UK), based at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on neural mechanisms underlying sensory interactions, perceptual decision-making, and functional reorganization post-cortical lesions, with recent work exploring the integration of neuroscience principles into educational practices.
Key research interests include functional connectivity in the social brain, neural plasticity following brain injuries, and the application of neuroimaging techniques (e.g., fMRI) in non-human primates. His publications span topics such as visual processing, decision-making networks, and cortical reorganization. He teaches on the BSc Neuroscience and Psychology program at King’s College London.
Dr. Bell’s articles highlight advancements in understanding brain network modularity, social cognition, and functional MRI methodologies in primates. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, bridging experimental neuroscience with pedagogical innovation.
