Andrew Barton

Andrew Barton is a Lecturer (10-Month) and Program Coordinator for the Cannabis Production and Management Certificate Program at Farmingdale State College. His academic background includes an M.S. in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus (2021) and a B.S. in Plant Science - Horticulture and Crop Production from the University of Maryland, College Park (2018).

Research Focus: Prof. Barton specializes in cannabis cultivation science with emphasis on:

• Advanced agricultural technologies and data-driven optimization
• Vertical farming systems and greenhouse operations
• Cannabinoid and terpene extraction for medicinal applications
• Post-harvest processing including drying, curing, and product formulation
• Industrial-scale cultivation management from propagation to retail
