Professor Sabrina G. Fayaz serves as Director of the Master of Science in Medical Cannabinoid Therapeutics (MCT) program at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine's Bradenton, Florida campus. Leveraging seven years of hands-on experience in medical and recreational cannabis retail operations across Nevada, Maryland, and Florida, she integrates industry expertise with academic rigor to shape future cannabis healthcare leaders.
Her educational foundation includes:
- Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from University of Maryland, Baltimore, Shady Grove School of Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Arts in Complementary and Alternative Healthcare from University of Arizona Global Campus
Professor Fayaz's research centers on evidence-based cannabinoid therapeutics, systems integration, and cannabis policy reform. She actively combats cannabis stigma through public advocacy, emphasizing therapeutic applications and evidence-based regulation. Her recent testimony on federal docket 2024-11137 addressed toxicology, abuse potential, and medical benefits to inform Controlled Substances Act scheduling decisions.
She collaborates with the MCST Student Association and S3 Collective to advance policy initiatives and student development. As program director, she mentors MCT students while promoting nature-inspired approaches to normalize cannabinoid therapy as legitimate healthcare.
