Andrew Atkinson

Andrew Atkinson is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics and Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, with a secondary appointment in the Division of Infectious Diseases. He holds affiliations with the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) and the Center for Biostatistics and Data Science (CBDS). His research focuses on developing statistical methods for handling missing data, clinical trial design, and infectious disease epidemiology. He completed his PhD in Biostatistics at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, followed by leadership in the Data Science group at the University Children’s Hospital in Basel, Switzerland.

Key research interests include the estimand framework for clinical trials, antibiotic resistance, HIV/AIDS, and healthcare-associated infections.
