Andrew Atkeson

Andrew Atkeson is the Stanley M. Zimmerman Professor of Economics and Finance at UCLA, with a long-standing affiliation as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and Consultant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University (1988) and a BA in Economics from Yale University (1983).

His research spans macroeconomics, finance, epidemiological modeling, and policy analysis, including critical work on COVID-19 and wealth inequality. He has served in editorial roles at journals like the Journal of Political Economy and American Economic Review: Insights, and is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and Alfred P. Sloan Fellow.
