Andrej Hovrin

Andrej Hovrin is a vocal accompanist at the University of Music Würzburg (Hochschule für Musik Würzburg), where he teaches song accompaniment. Based in the Bibrastraße building, he maintains consultation hours by appointment and serves as faculty within the vocal performance department.

His educational background includes:

• Studies at Samara Music High School (Russia)
• Graduated with honors from Petrozavodsk Academy of Music in 1994, specializing in piano (under Prof. Ruvim Ostrovsky), chamber music, and song accompaniment
• Postgraduate studies in song accompaniment with Prof. Tatjana Bibikova (1996-2000)
• Further studies with Konrad Richter at the Stuttgart Academy of Music

Mr. Hovrin maintains an active international career as a vocal accompanist, regularly performing throughout Europe and the USA. His performance activities include:

• Accompanying at prestigious international singing courses including the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg, Härnösand Opera Academy (Sweden), and Jeunesses Musicales Schloß Weikersheim
• Collaborating with renowned vocal pedagogues such as Inge Borkh, Richard Miller, Julia Hamari, and Vladimir Chernov
• Accompanying major competitions including the European Singing Competition DEBUT and the International Singing Competition of the Chamber Opera Schloß Weikersheim
• Guest performances at major venues including Mainfrankentheater Würzburg, Stuttgart State Opera, and Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao

He has recorded commercial CDs featuring works by Brahms, Dvorak, Mussorgsky, and Rachmaninov, released internationally in Austria, Iceland, and England. Prior to his position at Würzburg, he has taught at music academies in Düsseldorf, Hanover, and Petrozavodsk (Russia).
