Andreia Cardoso is a Landscape Architect with a PhD in Ecosystem-based Landscape Planning and Food Planning from the University of Lisbon (2017). Currently, she serves as an Auxiliary Researcher at BIOPOLIS – Program in Genomics, Biodiversity and Land Planning / CIBIO - Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (InBIO) at the University of Porto. Her career spans postdoctoral positions at the University of Aveiro (2019-2020), Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (2018-2019), and multiple research roles at the University of Coimbra and University of Lisbon (2016-2020).
Her research focuses on integrating socio-ecological systems with food security through landscape planning tools like GIS, ecosystem services mapping, and agroecological networks. Key projects include Horizon 2020 Project Ô on water circular economy and FCT-funded work on city-region food systems.
Andreia’s publications emphasize circular economy policies, viticultural terroir zoning, and foodshed relocalization. She has advised master’s students at University of Porto and Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, while contributing to interdisciplinary projects like EPIC WebGIS and national ecological network planning.
