Andreas Öjehag is a Senior Lecturer in Political Science at Karlstad University, Sweden. His research focuses on power dynamics in governance, particularly the marketization of public sectors, public procurement, and the impact of automated systems (AI/big data) on societal control. He actively contributes to both academic and public discourse, publishing in journals like Environment and Planning C and co-authoring accessible works such as Trängd demokrati (2022).
His academic career includes supervising two ongoing PhD projects and numerous bachelor/master theses. He teaches political theory, research methods, and serves as course coordinator at undergraduate and master's levels. His PhD courses attract students across disciplines nationally. Notably, his 2015 doctoral thesis on regional development was a runner-up for the Regional Studies Association's best thesis award.
