Andrea Serafini

Andrea Serafini is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Information Engineering (Università Politecnica delle Marche) since November 2024, affiliated with the "Ingegneria Informatica, Gestionale e dell’Automazione" curriculum of the XL cycle. His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into edge computing systems for Industry 5.0 applications.

Research Interests: Andrea specializes in automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI), with emphasis on decision-making systems and edge computing. His work bridges structural analysis with data-driven techniques for fault diagnosis and prognosis.

Education: Andrea earned a Master’s Degree in Computer and Automation Engineering with honors (October 2024) from Università Politecnica delle Marche, preceded by a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering (July 2021) from the same institution. His Master’s thesis explored fault diagnosis combining structural analysis and data-driven methods, while his Bachelor’s thesis focused on Bluetooth LE sensor networks for movement monitoring.

Professional Development: Through the Erasmus+ Traineeship program, he collaborated with Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya to deepen expertise in fault diagnosis and prognosis.
