معرفی
Andreas Wachter is a Professor at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, where he leads the Plant RNA Biology research group within the Faculty of Biology and the Institute for Molecular Physiology. His research focuses on understanding posttranscriptional mechanisms of gene regulation in plants.
Dr. Wachter's primary research interests include:
- Alternative precursor mRNA splicing (AS) in plants
- Regulated mRNA turnover mechanisms
- RNA-mediated gene control in plant development
- Plant stress response mechanisms at the molecular level
- Eukaryotic gene expression regulation
His research group employs a multidisciplinary approach combining genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, and plant physiology to identify novel regulatory components and characterize molecular principles underlying specific control of AS and mRNA turnover. While most research currently focuses on Arabidopsis thaliana, future work aims to test evolutionary conservation and agricultural relevance in other plant species.
