Prof. Dr. Andreas Ulbrich is a Professor of Vegetable Production and Processing at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture (AuL) at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. He leads the 'Growing Knowledge' research group and the 'Agrarsysteme der Zukunft' (Agricultural Systems of the Future) research center. His academic journey includes a PhD in Horticultural Science (1998) from the University of Hannover and prior roles as Head of the Research Station Marhof (University of Bonn) and Post-Doc at the Jülich Research Center.
Research focuses on sustainable agricultural systems, urban agriculture, and innovative food production technologies. Key projects include nutrient recovery in urban food systems, vertical farming, and participatory approaches in plant breeding. His work bridges academic research with practical applications, emphasizing environmental and societal sustainability.
