Andreas Söderberg is a registered nurse with advanced training in psychiatry and a PhD in nursing science (2024). He has been employed at the Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic in Växjö since 2004, where he serves as a main supervisor for nursing students during their psychiatric internships. His primary affiliation is with Linnaeus University’s Department of Health and Care Sciences under the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
Research interests focus on patient participation within high-security forensic psychiatric care environments, addressing care-process dynamics and societal protection challenges. Key projects include the USEFOR initiative under the Forte-funded FOR-Evidens program, aiming to develop evidence-based practices for forensic psychiatric care.
Publications emphasize patient-staff interactions, legal proceedings in care continuation, and caregiver experiences in maximum-security settings. He contributes to the Participation in Compulsory Psychiatric Care (DIPS) network and Nätrom board, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient involvement in compulsory psychiatric contexts.
