Prof. Dr. Andreas Schütze is a Professor for Measurement Science and Technology at Saarland University's Department of Systems Engineering within the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology. His research focuses on sensor technology, gas measurement systems, and environmental monitoring. He has held leadership positions including Dean of the Faculty Physics and Mechatronic Engineering and serves on editorial boards for several scientific journals.
His research interests span:
- Development of advanced sensor systems for environmental and industrial applications
- Signal processing and microsystems technology
- Indoor air quality monitoring solutions
- Cognitive measurement systems integrating AI
Professor Schütze has received significant recognition including the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship and serves as chairman of VDE Saar. He founded the SinnTec student laboratory and co-founded several technology transfer centers including ZeMA GmbH.
