Andreas Schreiber

Dr. Andreas Schreiber serves as a PostDoc and Group Leader of the Electrochemical Biosensors group at Hahn-Schickard, affiliated with the University of Freiburg's Faculty of Engineering. His research bridges synthetic biology, nanotechnology, and diagnostic applications, with a focus on developing portable homecare diagnostics systems since 2022.

Dr. Schreiber studied chemistry, biology, and sports science at the University of Leipzig, receiving his first state examination in 2007. He earned his doctorate in synthetic biology from the Freiburg Institute of Advanced Studies (FRIAS), where he developed defined biohybrid nanostructures with enhanced optical and magnetic properties using tailor-made protein adapters. His postdoctoral work at the Center for Biosystems Analysis (ZBSA) focused on assembling and modifying protein-based supramolecular nanostructures for targeted drug delivery and artificial cell synthesis.
