Andreas Scholl

Andreas Scholl is a University Professor of Voice specializing in Early Music at Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where he teaches vocal studies in the Department of Vocal Studies. Born in Germany, Scholl began his musical training with the Kiedrich Chorbuben Choir and later studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Richard Levitt and René Jacobs.

His research interests focus on historical performance practice of Baroque and Renaissance vocal music, with special emphasis on countertenor repertoire, German Lied, and Handel's works.
