Andreas Samourides

Dr. Andreas Samourides is a Research Fellow at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), affiliated with the BioLISYS laboratory. His work focuses on designing biomimetic synthetic scaffolds for biomedical applications, with a strong emphasis on tissue engineering and biomaterial characterization.

• Education: BEng in Medical Engineering (University of Surrey, 2010-2013), MSc in Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine (University of Sheffield, 2013-2014), PhD in Scaffold Fabrication (University of Sheffield, 2014-2018).

His research expertise includes scaffold fabrication methods such as freeze-drying, electrospinning, and porogen leaching, alongside characterization of physical and biological properties. Recent publications highlight his work on poly(glycerol sebacate urethane) scaffolds for tendon and oral mucosa repair, as well as plant-derived formulations for agricultural safety.
