Professor Andreas Papapetropoulos is a faculty member at the University of Athens, affiliated with the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. His academic career spans multiple roles, including Visiting Professor at institutions like UMDNJ, UTMB, and McGill University, and editorial board memberships for journals such as the British Journal of Pharmacology and Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology.
He earned a BSc in Pharmacy from the University of Patras (1985–1989) and a PhD in Pharmacology from the Medical College of Georgia (1990–1994), followed by postdoctoral training at Yale University. His research focuses on Gasotransmitters (NO and H2S), Molecular Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Pharmacology, and Cell Signaling, with a particular emphasis on Preclinical Drug Screening and Oxidative Stress.
