Prof. Andreas Löffler is a Professor at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture and Design. His teaching and research focus on climate-friendly architecture and building technology.
- Education: Studied architecture at the University of Karlsruhe (KIT), completing his diploma thesis on an ecological multi-generational house (1984-85).
- Professional History: Research Associate at KIT (1985-91), ran his own architectural office since 1996, and served as Dean of Architecture and Design at HFT Stuttgart (2007-13).
Research Interests center on sustainable construction, ecological building materials (e.g., timber, clay), daylight planning, and resilient urban development. He has led global projects in Morocco, Colombia, and Namibia, emphasizing resource-efficient solutions for humid climates.
Recent Publications include works on informal construction and sustainable urbanism, reflecting his expertise in low-carbon building methods and material innovation.
Awards include the State Teaching Award BW (2000) and multiple architectural honors since 1986.
