Andreas Luhn

Andreas Luhn is a professor of Tuba and orchestral repertoire at the Rostock University of Music and Drama since 2000, holding dual roles as solo tubist with the Norddeutsche Philharmonie since 1985. His teaching focuses on F/B Tuba, Cimbasso, Euphonium, and pedagogical methodologies in brass instruction. He also teaches at the Rostock Conservatory and Young Academy Rostock.

Education: Studied Tuba/Double Bass at Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar (1979-1985). Early career included substitute roles with Thüringen orchestras like the Staatskapelle Weimar.

Research interests emphasize brass performance pedagogy and orchestral repertoire interpretation. International engagements include masterclasses in Poland, Spain, and Vietnam through his work with ensembles like L’art de Passage and Blechbläser-Consort Rostock.
