Andreas Krause

Dr. Andreas Krause is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Bath, focusing on systemic risk and financial market structures. His research employs network theory and agent-based computational models to examine interbank exposures, credit mechanisms, and failure contagion in banking systems. Funded by the British Academy, his work informs optimal bailout frameworks and credit market designs.

Dr. Krause investigates how network architectures influence financial stability, with recent studies on group lending mechanisms, interbank interest rate formation, and strategic borrower behavior. His methodological approach combines theoretical rigor with empirical validation, including consultations on risk-profiling systems supported by EPSRC.

He teaches quantitative methods and welcomes doctoral students working on computational finance or systemic risk. Prior to Bath, Dr. Krause completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Fribourg and worked in the School of Management.
