Andreas I. Mueller

Andreas I. Mueller is a Professor of Macroeconomics and Labor Markets at the University of Zurich's Department of Economics, and an Affiliated Professor at the UBS Center for Economics in Society. Previously, he held positions as an Associate Professor at UT Austin and Columbia Business School. He earned his doctorate from Stockholm University's Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES), receiving the Arnbergska Prize for his dissertation. His research focuses on macroeconomic and labor market dynamics, including unemployment insurance, job search behavior, and business cycles. His work has appeared in top journals such as the American Economic Review and Econometrica, and has been featured in major media outlets like the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

He serves as a Research Affiliate at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), and an Associate Editor at the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics.
