Andreas Hepp is a Professor of Media and Communications at the ZeMKI, University of Bremen, Germany, and Head of ZeMKI. He leads the Research Unit 5656 on 'Communicative AI: The Automation of Societal Communication,' funded by DFG and FWF. Previously, he held positions at the University of Münster, Technical University of Ilmenau, and others. His research focuses on deep mediatization, datafication, and the societal impact of digital technologies. He has authored 14 monographs, including Deep Mediatization and Cultures of Mediatization. His work explores how media transformations reshape culture and society, emphasizing concepts like algorithmic automation, pioneer communities, and communicative AI.
